Remote Health and Wellbeing

An online space whereby individuals are invited to join us for tea, coffee and chat to improve their well-being.
Our remote Health and Well-being Programme is designed to be responsive and attuned to the hearts and minds of young people. Assuming a posture that is tender and able to listen we offer support that taps into and teases out confidence, passion and autonomy: and we do this by bringing the social café to the comfort of their home.
Our focus is on promoting self-development and building a sense of worth so that our young people can take the next steps towards further education, employment and positive futures. Our programme takes account of the challenges faced by many young people today, we have designed the café with flexibility, securefullness and non-judgment in mind.
Participants receive a Friendship box which they can use for the duration of the course and beyond. All materials, including videos, meditations and learning resources can be accessed on our virtual learning platform. Café Connection helps to support young people to explore their health and wellbeing, whilst providing a focus on all aspects of confidence and resilience building to support their journey of growth and self-discovery. Age 15+
Café connection is organised and led by our colleague Aisling Phelan.

HeartMath in Fife
In 2024, Anam Alba took ‘The Little Iceberg’ to Fife Council. Several schools and third sector organisations engaged with the resources that we created and provided. One of those was HeartMath. One school, Lynburn Primary School, invested in the HeartMath technology and alongside our coach, Francis Larkin and developmental research psychologist, Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, carried out a small experiment with a number of children. Over the course of 4 weeks, children in Lynburn Primary had the chance to learn about the HeartMath techniques and use the biofeedback technology.
The result in increased coherence and regulation was significant. The report and feedback will be published shortly and uploaded here.
Other schools in Fife have included HeartMath in their improvement plan and we look forward to the other projects that are in the pipeline.

ACEs Action Community

We are part of a wider community connected to the ACEs Journey in Scotland. As part of our efforts to contribute to this wider movement of change we collaborate with similar organisations to co-host and organise events and workshops. We benefit collectively by linking with others and building relationships that connect communities. This enables us to sign post help, partner for projects and build a network that has a common goal in making Scotland a safe, healthy and creative place to live.
Tales and Tapestries
For the Mental Health Arts festival, we will be running a five week programme for Carers. We will work online to help overcome barriers of language and isolation with the plan to come together in real life to celebrate new connections and friendships in week five. We will weave together common stories of struggle and survival in both song and art, creating our own tartan tapestry to celebrate the interconnectedness of culture, languages and life.

Music and Memories
Siobhan will be running several pilot projects in partnership with C.A.S.E and local community groups to bring singing and songwriting to older people in our community.
Look out for our Dementia choir and our Intergenerational, family choir.
